My tryst with nature & Kite flying

How many of you have experienced kite flying. This is very popular in India and other Asian countries. I never had such a chance so far. In hindsight I always lounged to fly kite sometime or the other.

I got this chance last week when 3rd International Kite Fiesta was held in Dubai on 17-Jan-2014. When I read this news in the newspaper I was elated. Furthermore, the organisers promised a kite making workshop so the kids like us can learn this sport.

Early morning I with my family reached the venue at Dubai Outlet Mall. It had a vast expanse of open area, away from hustle & bustle of the city, a prerequisite for kite flying. I attended the kite making workshop. A well-known coach from India took the workshop. I carefully listened him & made my kite. He inspected the same & nodded his approval

Teams from GCC, & India were there to fly various kites. There were hundreds of enthusiasts prepared to fly kites soaring high in sky. You interact with various nationalities but your goal is same.

I felt myself close to Mother Nature when cool breeze was kissing my face & soon my kite also soared high. I felt I was missing something in life without this kite. There is no pollution no traffic only me my kite & many others with scores of kites. Big kites and with different themes were there at the venue. Soon the Dubai skyline was transformed. It was dotted with vivid & bright creations. It was a memorable experience for me & one of the best outdoor activity I could imagine.

I urge all readers to experience kite flying & feel connected to the nature

Yes , it is very common & liked activity in India. Kite flying and kite battles are an Independence Day tradition in Delhi.(India) ... the traditional kite flying day comes on Makar Sankranti in January each year. ...On some special occasions like Independence day , Sakranti-you can see sky so colourful with variety of kites flying in India .
