Building a generation of Eco heroes

As a rap up for my 23rd Eco Generation term, and of course inspired by Eco Generation initiative, I decided to identify and recognise Eco heroes in my country Zambia. Encouraged to apply where those young people who are doing exceptional work towards the environmental sustainability across the country and deliberately I added those that helped me conduct TUNZA Ecogeneration activities throughout my term voluntarily. I decided to make these young men and women feel special by adding them to the environmental network am launching as well as award them with certificates as Eco Heroes for the country. The exercise went on for a week And I had overwhelming response. I discovered there has been indeed hidden Eco heroes that have been hiding waiting for a platform to surface. I identified over 20 Eco heroes among which some are musicians, Activists, affiliates e.t.c. They were excited to be honored, recognised and are willing to work with us even in future programs. The essence of this whole program was to identify, recognise and motivate upcoming environmentalists to work with or those that some day would take up the leadership roles. President Obama once said no matter how exeptional we may be, we cannot be lebelled true leaders if we can leave leadership office without leaving behind a potential successor. True leadership is about leading, inspiring and training for future leadership. I am also excited that through the exercise, beyond doubt I can comfortably say that Zambia has Eco heroes whom I believe and hope that one day will even represent this platform. Even if I was this much thirsty for change, one thing am sure of is that I cannot do this alone, a collaboration with other Eco heroes can do. Many thank to Eco Generation for the opportunities to serve as 23rambassador and improving my confidence as well as leadership skills. You made me an Eco hero, and i paid back with a multitude of them. I will always be grateful and supportive for this platform with hope to do a lot more together and for the branding image of this institution. Until we paint it Green.. Green Cheers from Zambia.
