Spay Day

by Bal krishna Pandey | 26-02-2020 02:24 recommendations 1

World spay Day, 25th February

February is also recognized as spay / Neuter Awareness Month.
spay/neuter; it not only helps to control the dog population, but spay also helps to reduce dog fights, prevent breast cancer and heat period nuisances. Sterilization helps to eliminate the appearance of Tvt and reduce the incidence of urine spraying. Overall, it helps them live a happy and healthier life.

Reasons to spay/neuter animals
Spay/neuter slows population growth
Spay/neuter curbs undesirable hormone-related behaviors
Spay/neuter is cost effective
Spay/neuter reduces health risks for the animals themselves

facts;
Euthanasia rates are increasing exponentially in regions where viable spay/neuter programs are not available.
Dogs are 15 times and cats 45 times more prolific than humans.
Dogs and cats benefit from many behavioral and health benefits of surgical sterilization.

Is it cruel to spay/neuter stray animals?
No, it's not cruel. I agree that we modify the animal for our own comfort, but if you look at the situation as a whole, it makes sense to sterilize your pets.
Not only for safety reasons, but also to reduce the amount of animals in shelters or stray dogs on the streets. You may think that you choose the least cruel way by not sterilizing your pet, but what happens to all kittens and puppies? After giving them, you have no way to know how they are treated. In most cases, you can not find housing for them, and they end up in shelters. Or you have to keep them and sooner or later you have a house full of stressed animals. Sterilization of pets prevents them from contributing to the problem of homeless or abandoned dogs and cats.
There are a number of potentially fatal health problems and communicable diseases that animals can contract or develop due to their integrity and reproduction; for example, pyometra, TVT and reproductive cancers. These risks are eliminated when the animal is sterilized or sterilized.

    Hey Bal!
    It's Lisa.

I am sure that this is one of the topics that people are very controversial of although there are reasonable arguments behind the measure as you have well explained, it does seem very cruel and something of against the animal rights. Yet I think there are more detrimental consequences for all if we don't regulate their population through the measure. However my opinion on the matter is that we have to dive in the matter more fundamentally especially regarding the street cats. The excessive increase in their population needs to be solved from how they ended up being in the street in the first place!

Lots of discussion could be made about the topic.
Thank you for providing us with such an interesting agenda to discuss:)
