I have personally been a staunch advocate of Research, technology and innovations as I strongly believe that these are key drivers for a sustainable social, economic and environmental development. In a digital world, a world full of machines, with technology doing the most in broad and multifaceted range of accessories such as internet, mechanics, gadgets and every other aspect of life. Today at the snap of a finger the once believed to be most difficult tasks are now performed in a matter of seconds with that ease, thanks to technology. Even though technology has been cited to be an accomplice in the destruction of the earths ecosystem, I still believe when rightfully applied it can be the most powerful tool to reverse the incumbent crisis. I mean, what can't technology do? As such, I have coupled my environmental advocacy with innovations, Research and inventiveness especially with this younger generations. I strongly believe that when such a mindset is inculcated especially in young people, development of new ideas, machines and technologies that are not only efficient or effective but sustainable too, we shall surely achieve a green clean and sustainable Environment. Last year 2019, my love for innovations and inventiveness gave me an honor to be invited at one of the high schools in my town kitwe called Malela Secondary School where I was asked to promote a mathematics and science club called Junior, Engineers, Technicians and Scientists- JETS. I was cautioned to emphasise the role of innovations, science and technology in sustainable development. I interacted with the children, went down with them in the line of history pointing out how technology since its genesis has been so instrumental in the transformation of our society through machines, industries and agriculture among others as well as how those who have mastered the trend as well as tye art have proved to become multi billionaires when emphasised from entrepreneurship and innovations. Furthermore I emphasised how sustainability can only be achieved if the young minds like them would take up the front role and rewrite the history of technology and translate it from a vice into a remedial measure to heal the world. The children where so inspired that they promised to come up with interesting projects especially environmental related that will help arrest the current atmospheric challenges the earth has been facing. The efforts did not fall on dry grounds, on the 31st of January 2020, when we held a TUNZA Ecogeneration Environmental Research and Innovations Expo, this class of children participated and some of them brought their projects with them for Exhibition. Among them, A boy came with a project that caught our attention. He came up with an Electric car made from recycled plastic materials. This project was so amazing and made us award this boy. I have never been fulfilled and so captivated all my life and in my career as an Environmentalist. Through the eyes of these young minds I could see hope, and with confidence i could be opportunistic about the next world. So here is how I imagine the next world, I see a world driven by commerce, science and technology with no one left behind. A foundation upon which history shall be rewritten and a new word called sustainability shall be incorporated to every development endevor. Stretching from food production, construction, economics, sociology, engineering and internet, sustainability shall be the theme and the core. When there will be no need anywhere in the world to cut more trees to meet the demand of paper, thanks to digital, all will be electronic. When there will be no more burning gas to reach to point B, carbon footprint shall be tremendously cut through development of sustainable renewable energy sources. When the future will matter more than commerce and trade.. But i know for sure that this dream will only come true if we groom a new generation of inventors, Change makers and Eco heroes. Until then, we keep painting it green. Green Cheers from Zambia.

Hello David
I agree with most of your opinion that technology will eventually make it possible to preserve the environment and lead the human society to sustainable development.
And I have to say that your program is awesome! I can see from the pictures that the students are participating enthusiastically. The award winner's work also surprised me!
Thank you for sharing your great experience!

Hey David!
It's Lisa your mentor.
I am so proud of you and happy for you that you had such a great opportunity!
I really do agree with you that these students who study science and math will be the true changemakers in the world. I dread of a better future and I have faith in it because I see how many wonderful and passionate young people are in the world of course including all the great Tunza ambassadors here:)
I think it's important that we raise the environmental awareness of those future scientists and technicians who will steer our technological innovation in the near future.
What you did here is great and last picture, that's such a good photo of you:)
Nice work and you look really nice in the photo:)
