As an Regional Ambassador to Tunza EcoGeneration, I conducted a new campaign on Twitter known as "Twitter Chat". Twitter Chat was organized on the occasion of "World Wet Lands Day". In this report, I am writing you with the tweets that came upon the discussion during the twitter chat.
World Wetlands Day is celerated on February 2nd every year. The Day also marks the date of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands on 2 February 1971, in the Iranian city of Ramsar on the shores of the Caspian Sea. #TwitterChat #LetsDiscuss The theme for 2020 WWD is ¡°Wetlands and Biodiversity¡±. This year's theme is a unique opportunity to highlight wetland biodiversity, its status, why it matters and promote actions to reverse its loss. #WorldWetlandsDay2020 #WetlandBiodiversityMatters Thinking of environmental issues as tommorrows and keeping it aside has led to disasters no human could have ever imagined. Now its time for every youth to join hands and come out of the comfort zone to enhance our biodiversity and wetland. #TwitterChat 40% of the species lives or breeds on wetlands. They are rich with biodiversity and are a habitat for variety of plant and animal species. Latest estimates shows global decline of biodiversity, with wetlands are disappearing 3 times faster than forests.
@youthleadglobal Wetlands are by far the most productive and dynamic ecosystem on Earth that provide subsistence for people and habitats for a wide range of flora and fauna. #WorldWetlandsDay #TwitterChat They harbor high concentration of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fishes and invertebrate species. Lying at the interface between land and water, wetlands are of immense value for biodiversity and for the livelihoods of the local communities. #TwitterChat#WorldWetlandsDay The most powerful creature of the earth, the human, lately seems to be confined by the boundary of misery.Climate change, australian bushfire, corona virus has hit the humanity. #WorldWetlandsDay #WetlandsBiodiversityMatters #LetsDiscuss #TwitterChat No wonder nature pays it all back. Lets do a promise to respect the nature, biodiversity and wetlands. #WetlandBiodiversityMatters #WorldWetlandsDay #TwitterChat |
