Report on Environment by the government of BD |
---|
I want to apologize for writing this last report of this term. Actually my semester final exam is going on. So please accept my apology.
Department of Environment (DoE) of Bangladesh Government has recently published a report, ?Bangladesh Environment and Climate Change Outlook 2012?. The report shows the current status of land resources, water resources, biodiversity, air quality, waste management and climate change. This is the second report made by the government on the issue. The first report was published as State of Environment Report 2001. While releasing the report, Raisul Alam Mondol, Director General of DoE said, the report tries to identify the link between the negative impacts of climate change and different sectors of the environment. He also said that it would help the government take sustainable measures toward stopping environmental degradation. For the environmental status submission procedure to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the department of environment has produced the report. Addressing as the chief guest, Deputy Minister for Environment of Forests Abdullah Al Islam Jacob said the government has already announced four rivers Buriganga, Balu, Turag and Shitalakhya surrounding Dhaka city, as ecologically critical areas and taken steps to revive the rivers. |

Regular environmental review of every region is very important as this identifies the ecologically critical areas and govt can then take steps like in case of these rivers you mentioned. Thanks for sharing , Asadullahil.
