In the past decades, call for environmental protection have emerged from different parts of the society from civic action groups to members of the community. The success behind a well natured environment lies in the hands of the community.

Generally, there has been an increase in the importance of the publics? role in any environmental issue. There are many positive outcomes from community involvement and citizen participation in the public decision making. In the context of environmental protection, there exists a significant and growing interest at local and international levels in strengthening community involvement in an environmental management.

There are more environmental civil society organizations and institutions today due to interest by many that environmental conservation is a practical thing that the outcomes are result oriented as compared to any other projects.

A young child would attend an environmental event just because the elders and everybody else is there. That same child makes the society complete because by the end of the day, he gives himself a role to play. The child one day becomes an adult and as charity begins at home, the child becomes an ambassador for the Earth.

Behind every hardworking man, there is a proud woman. Our mothers and sisters are the backbone of the society. African Culture has made them to be doing house chores but when it came to hygiene and boiling of drinking water, they are the mentors and pioneers of our environment. Majority women have always been the principle preservers and conservers of biodiversity. International treaties and conferencesnow recognize the central role of women as caretakers of the natural world.

In the name of old people, old men have respect and recognition of the society.  They are the same people who call the locals for environmental meetings. Through leadership, they form role models to their age mates and the upcoming young generations. As members of the communities, they are given a chance to say a word or two to the people. It is here that they share the little experience they have acquired from nature.

Aside from having a greater stake in the more distant future, young people are especially well placed to promote environmental awareness simply because they often have a better access to information about the environment than do their elders. In part, this is a matter of having being exposed to the environmental education in schools. Apart from exposure in formal education, youth have lived all their lives in an era in which environmental issues have loomed at large.

Because youth have a stronger awareness on the issues and a greater stake in long term sustainability, the environment is one area in which they ought to take the lead. They will face challenges as pressures are brought to bear in the positive direction. To participation of youth in environmental protection can be sought at levels and locations ranging from grassroots activism and participation in conservation projects to policy making bodies.

?If you plan for one year, plant rice. If you plan for ten years, plant trees and if you plan for hundred years, educate the people?. Our society needs education for it to move ahead and fulfillment of the Millennium Development Goals MDGs and Vision 2030.

Environmental education has to be encouraged where at first students become aware of the environment. The students get knowledge and skills from their teachers to solve environmental issues. The teachers motivate to develop the students? attitudes to participate in various environmental protectionprogrammes in favour of the environment.

The teachers and parents try to inculcate the knowledge about environment and develop positive and healthy attitude towards environment from the beginning of life. There is essential need to organize and conduct educational programmes focusing mainly on preservation and conservation of nature.At secondary level, students need to be introduced to the problems of the environment we live in.

This is social responsibility of the community in maintaining the environment and making it healthy. This is necessary due to the fact that living conditions of people have become complex due to rapid technological advancements, urbanization and population explosions.

There is growing expectations that all sectors of the society should start taking actions to prevent climate change. Environment belongs to each one of us and all of us have a responsibility to contribute towards its conservation and protection.Environmental conservation concerns every individual needs to save and protect it.
