FORMATION OF YOUTH CLUBS TO CONTINUE THE WORK

In August 2013, I saw an advert on Face book to become the 11th Tunza Ecogeneration Ambassador to Sierra Leone. I applied and was made an ambassador. Within my first term, I was able to raise a campaign against filth in 12 schools across Freetown which was a very interesting and cooperative one. In addition to that, I partnered with Environmental protection agency in Serra Leone, for the provision of garbage trash cans which is yet to be delivered.  Then in March, I reapplied to become the 12th ambassador and during this tenure of office, I was more concentrated on campaigns on diverse issues from Female Genital mutilation and possible ways of ending early child marriage to Mamaye campaigns which has made it quite cumbersome to pin point a singular environmental campaign that I did save my participation in the disaster reduction summit in Abuja, Nigeria.

In concluding this term I have nominated Mr. Maada Lamin one of our associate members in Forum for the development of young people to mange youths clubs to continue the drive of youth advocacy on environmental issues. Mr. Lamin is a graduate from Fourah Bay College where he studies Geology and is currently teaching at the Vine Memorial Secondary School. He is a well respected figure within the circles of youth advocates in Sierra Leone for his practical work with young people.

This year will see me pursue an Msc. In Governance and Regional Integration in the University of Yaounde, Cameroun and for this course I shall be away and will not be in a position to be an ardent contributor to the Tunza Generation team and therefore, I am strongly appealing for Mr. Maada Lamin to be appointed the 13th Tunza Eco Generation to Sierra Leone.

As I round up, let me state that the earth is our home and as young people, it is in our best interest to ensure that we make it an ever green phenomenal for all. It has been a nice challenge being an ambassador for Tunza and wish us all the best in our future collaboration.
