As same as my friend and co-ambassador Rohan Kapur, I also visited a restaurant for dinner(here in India) and also requested the leftover to be packed. But Rohan's story and my story is entirely different. As Rohan's pizza was packed in a special card board box While mine was packed in fancy Plastic bags and the most shocking thing is that when i refused to accept fancy plastic bags & asked for a Eco-friendly bag, They said they are using these bags since the beginning and many customers like their fancy packing & Plastic bags as well, Also it's a matter of Brand Image. (Brand Image by Fancy Bags? Oh Seriously?) How true is that!! "We don't have to sacrifice a strong Brand Image for a Healthy Environment" But You Know what else is true? We don't have to sacrifice a Healthy Environment for a Strong Brand Image too! There was a suggestion box in right side of the cash counter. I did my bit by suggesting them to use Eco friendly bags. also i returned Fancy Plastic bags to them. After 10-12 days I received a call from unknown number and the caller was....Restaurant Manager. He told me that all Restaurant members are really inspired by my suggestions and they have started using Eco-friendly bags. I never expected a call and quick response from restaurant. To congratulate them i visited them again and this time they packed my leftover in beautiful Eco friendly bags. Yeah By Our Collective and Small Actions, Together We Can Change The World"

I like your vigor and attitude towards the subject Dhamendra...i mean what do customers do with the plastic bags after looking fancy and cool from shopping? If they recycled and re-used the paper after may be they could be well excused then.

Wow, that's great.
even the companies are getting awareness that this is an era where brand image is enhanced and strengthened by eco-labels and not by using environmentally harmful products. Thumbs up for your effort!

Dharmendra, this incident will be a great motivation for the sincere environment crusaders like you & other Ambassadors of Tunza Eco-Gen.
Rules are made by Govt. but implemented & enforced by public, more effectively by actions of sincere persons like you.
It is our collective responsibility to be persistent & consistent. I'm pretty sure that we can save our precarious environment & the world shall be a greener place to survive.
Thanks for your report.

The manager has a great attitude toward environmental preservation. I think your action just did a very great change toward not only the restaurant, but also the world. If everyone suggest this in every restaurant they go, the change will be more solid. Now, I know what I'd do next time I go tot he restaurant! Great job, Dharmendra!

WOW! great initiative . Efforts like this , though small , but make a lot of difference. So happy to read this . Good job , Dharmendra. If every individual raises his voice like this against anti-environment practices , this earth would not be crying and would be much more safer and healthier planet. Thanks for sharing your inspiring real life story.

great work Dhamendra....it is our duty to protect the environment. Looking out for the slightest of things that can harm the environment and take the initiative to make changes in it can go a long way in protecting the environment.
