With the current rate of usage and depletion of non_renewable resources, the days are no longer that we have to survive without it. That's why the initiatives for sustainable living is merely one of the most important thing of all.
A quick fact non_renewable resource:
The use of non-renewable resources, such as fossil fuels, is the number one contributor to global warming. Non-renewable resources are energy sources that we use and consume faster then nature produces them. Fossil fuels such as coal and natural gas, take centuries to form naturally, and crude oil takes millions of years to form. These resources are not infinite and over time, most experts believe they will cease to exist.
Here are some scary facts regarding non-renewable energy according to The Ecologist, based on current worldwide consumption rates :
The natural gas supply will run out within the next 35 years.
Within 70 years the world's current oil reserves will be gone - If the current rate of consumption continues for oil, the supply is predicted to run out within the next 14 years.
When most of us think about non-renewable resources, the first thing we think about is fossil fuels. Though these fossil fuel energy sources are the most widely publicized, there are other resources that are slowly running out such as:
Aluminum
Copper
Silver
Gold
Diamonds
Once people mine these materials, they cannot be replaced at a sustainable rate.
Quick facts on renewable resources :
#1: Renewable energy is a form of clean energy that is provided by natural sources present in nature.
#2: The main forms of renewable energy are: solar, wind, hydro, biofuel and geothermal (energy derived from heat generated under the earth?s surface) and these sources are all continually replenished!
#3: In some countries, renewable energy is cheaper than fossil fuels. Renewable energy is a much cheaper alternative in some countries because of their ability to harness sources of energy that are prevalent to their location.
#4: Renewable energy creates three times more jobs than fossil fuels. According to Clean Technica, ?a national study showed that job creation in clean energy outdoes fossil fuels by a margin of 3-to-1 — every dollar put into clean energy creates three times as many jobs as putting that same dollar into oil and gas.?
#5: Renewable energy investments are cost effective. The International Renewable Energy Agency released a new policy brief showing that renewable energy has become the most cost-effective way to generate electricity for hundreds of millions of people worldwide who are not on the grid.
#6: One wind turbine can produce enough electricity to power up to 300 homes.
#7: If it could be properly harnessed, there?s enough sunlight that falls on the earth in just one hour to meet the world energy demands for a whole year! Our whole energy problem would be solved if we could somehow find a way to harness solar energy more efficiently.
#8: Unlike fossil fuels, renewable sources of energy like hydropower, wind and solar do not directly emit greenhouse gases. Did you know? Scientists believe that greenhouse gasses are the culprits behind global warming.
#9: Surveys show the world?s resource base for geothermal energy is larger than the resource base for coal, oil, gas and uranium combined. Lets use this fact to raise awareness and action.
#10: Biomass is currently the largest U.S. renewable energy source with more than 200 existing plants providing electricity for 1.5 million American homes.
Because we live in this environment, so it is our duty to save it and its constituents. Those who love their family, do also love their grand childrens and their upcoming generation. Not for this environment but they, for the sake of their family, should protect the resource so as to maintain the continuating of existence of the humanity.

Thanks , Basu , for sharing the encouraging and +ve facts about renewable resources and scary facts about non-renewable facts. It is important to read them , spread them so that the concern for need to change to renewable -is highlighted and acted upon.
Yes , if we love our family , their children , then we must protect environment so that our grand children can see beautiful biodiversity & greenery. Like it is said that "We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors, we borrow it from our Children"

Thanks for the insight, Basu.
We are fortunate to grow up in this fast paced era of latest technology but the glitch of rapid environmental degradation, global warming etc. are crushing this good feeling.
But, still I feel myself blessed as we can use the latest technology to curb this menace.
We know the problem & we know the solution.
Use of Sustainable energy is the need of the day.
I personally feel & double agree with you that the partial solution lies in tapping solar power potential to its fullest at the fastest pace.

Conversion to renewable energy seems quite difficult to be done, even if the concept are really hilarious and brilliant. Many factors are the obstacles. Government side, business and many parties have interest toward this thing. Some countries has implemented meanwhile others have not done yet.
But I'm really glad to read your report because since you are young and the next generation to hold the torch of development in the future, You have already had the awareness.
I hope, when you have been the president of your country or you hold an important position in the society, you will not forget your report. and you will conduct its implementation :)
Thank you. :)
