Box Appeal - an initiative for welfare charity for the blue collar workers |

The Box Appeal is a charity initiative run by Radisson Blu and Park Inn Hotels in the UAE, Bahrain, Beirut, Muscat and Cairo for the workers who are behind all the glitters around us in day to day life but often deprived or neglected.....
Originally created in 2008 as part of Radisson Blu and Park Inn?s Responsible Business Action Month, that takes place every year in September, the appeal has become more and more successful each year. The programme asks people to fill boxs (provided by the organisation) with essential goods from a provided list which includes the following items T-Shirt, Cap, Disposable Razor, Shaving Cream, Deodorant, Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Small Hand Towels, Comb, Soap, Shampoo, Talcum powder These boxes are then distributed to those most in need across the region. Green brigade is participating in this social charity event since last 3 years and this year also we have donated total 22 boxes..here are some snaps for the event...    |

Great initiative Unmesh.
When we were child we used to reduce our expense to save money we were given pocket money. Every week we used to collect such money. After we had sufficient money, we used to buy stationery items and she those with needy students through our child club.

What a good initiative! I hope to start one too, but this time it will be a box filled with books. The boxes would then be donated to underprivileged schoolchildren for their personal development.

Thank you for your generous help by donating 22 charity boxes. Those needy people will surely be benefitted by materials present in the box. One human trying to lift the other :)

Bless you guys. This is a good way of giving importance and caring for the people underprivileged and neglected. I remember people from different countries who also packed some goods for the affected communities during Typhoon Haiyan.

What a beautiful initiative! It's a brilliant idea making a box full of essential goods for under privileged people. If we look around our home, we can find many unused goods and can make numbers of boxes. I hope for it to start here in Korea also.
