As a buildup towards Rio+20 , 'The Living Rainforest ' , UK organsied a global essay competition inviting children from across the world to write an open letter to the UN Secretary General on what they thought should change and get addressed . Titled "Dear Mr UN Secretary General ..." , this event received 849 entries worldwide from 59 countries.
I won the 3rd prize in the primary category and was the only winner from the Middle East and Africa in my category. I travelled to London to receive the prize .
I participated in a workshop alongwith winners and finalists at the venue near London where we shared our ideas for a more sustainable future . Our views were recorded in a video to be shown during Rio+20 summit.
I am now in Rio and a reporter from THE NATIONAL , UAE interviewed me over the phone about my essay and how I intend carrying forward my vision of a green economy and the future we want .
