This was an UNCSD MGCY registered event held on Day 2 of the YOUTH BLAST which brought together environmentalists from Asian nations who were attending Rio+20 . The moderators of this forum were specifically invited by UNCSD and I was one of them .

As the only attending representative at this forum from the Middle East I shared my regions? issues, perspectives , challenges --- especially with regards to desertification , sustainability , involvement of civil society and the way forward towards a green economy . Key leaders from major Asian nations such as India , Nepal , Pakistan , Sri Lanka , Japan, China to name a few , attended . It also brought in delegates from other nations (outside Asia )  who were attending the YOUTH BLAST and this enabled us all to obtain a truly international perspective on issues facing our part of the world.
