A NEW YEAR....... A GREEN BEGINNING

by | 01-01-2015 03:30 recommendations 0

A new year is incomplete without some new resolutions. So this time why don't you go for some green resolutions? Check out these ideas to help get you going on your green resolutions.

GREEN YOUR RIDE
Walk the distance that can cover using your scooter. Cycle the distance that you are planning to cover using your car. For longer ones go for public transport. In this way you are not only saving energy but you are also doing a great deal of exercise that will help you to reduce your calories!

GREEN YOUR DECOR
How can we do this? Well.....by using zero-VOC paints, sourcing eco-friendly renovation supplies, and getting rid of the poison plastic — POLY VINYL CHLORIDE — in your home.

GREEN YOUR ELECTRONICS
Switch to CFL bulbs and LED lights. You can also go for the new trend-solar powered appliances. Don't forget to use the power saving mode for computers and laptops when needed.

GREEN YOUR EATING
Again how? Go for organic food stuffs! And don¡¯t bite off more than you can chew.

Actions indeed speaking louder than words. Just planning a resolution and writing it down is not enough. You should follow it and act accordingly. As a new year resolution programme, I organized a green art contest. Students pledged to plant more trees and coloured pictures depicting their new year green resolution. Here are some snapshots of the artworks students in my locality did as a part of NEW YEAR GREEN RESOLUTION PROGRAMME:-

Thanks for sharing your efforts and inspiring thoughts on New Year Resolutions. Yes , I fully agree with you that resolutions are not meant to be thought on 1st Jan and forgotten for rest of the year.
Green Art contest was a very good way to give momentum to your resolution. Great work, Afra . Keep it up.

Great work on the resolutions! Loving the artworks too! Maybe we should try handing these out as leaflets to people to raise awareness?
