Experiences in Introducing Tunza – Eco Generation during 13th Ambassador Program.

Being part of Tunza – Eco Ambassador Program is one of impressive experiences in my life. I never thought to do some activities for the sake of the environment before. For me, who come from computer science background, environment is out of my capacity. I have no adequate knowledge or I cannot do some scientific innovations like other fellow ambassadors do. What I can to do are getting involved in environmental actions, loving the environment, and conveying environmental messages to anyone. That is all! But thanks a bunch to Eco – Generation Team and ambassador friend, you inspire me to learn and learn more.

During my term to serve as a part of 13th ambassadors, introducing Tunza – Eco Generation, sometimes was difficult but on the other side, it was fun! The difficulties I faced are communication and nervousness. I had to find proper words in order to persuade the audience without feeling bored and somehow, I felt so nervous whenever I had to speak in front of elders or seniors. But, being polite is the key to face them.

Being underrated is my other experience. The audience, somehow, thought that Tunza – Eco Generation Activites were nothing. They thought that why they should involve in environmental actions meanwhile there are more interesting activities to do. Yeah, I know that whenever people do not find a passion in something, they will do nothing for it. It is not about passion or something else but the earth is the only place for them to living. Do they consider that fact? People usually think that the environment is part of government responsibilities. Yup, there are some environmental organization and department that handle the matter, but at least, we should help them even our action is simple, for example, do not litter trashes everywhere or use clean water properly. Those are easy, but they kept denying.

Some conclusions come to my mind after going through these. Changing people mindset or behavior is not an easy thing. We need to make them love first then we can fly high. Actually, loving or not is their own business. No one can interfere someone?s heart. But we need to keep conveying the messages and believing that someday, there will some people who fall in love with the environment due to our message. And after all, I feel happy with what I have done to them.

I like the way you have written report with so much honesty and sincerity.
You are right many a times we environment campaigners (or may I call us "Change Makers") face such challenges that people don't care , they feel by their doing alone situation won't improve . But as you said , let's keep spreading the awareness with more logics and convincing facts that they are bound to believe that they are the stakeholders and each of us has responsibility towards environment conservation .

Governement's busines, not our business are some of the common mindset prevailing in our community. But things are changing in a positive sense and more and more people are being aware about their environment. I am so glad you have taken such great responsibility and working for environment conservation. Cheers Rin Naida
