This will have to be the hardest article I ever had to write in my young writing career. These web pages to me have always been way more than just that. This to me has become like a home. With each login I enter a world of self belief and intellectual enlightenment. Welcome of the phenomenal web platform of young environmentalist. Welcome to  Eco Generation! Wel-come... wel-lived... then... Wel-gone.

Where do I even begin to say goodbye to you all? Or maybe i do not have to. I mean, to ease the pain of it all and to save you all the pity speech, let me stop typing this and go back to whatever it is I was doing?

NO! wait? that will not make me feel any better. Because if there is something I learnt during my activities as an Ambassador to Zimbabwe is that: 

sometimes you just have to put your personal feelings about a situation aside so that you get a job done and leave a positive impact in your community. If you want something you have to fight for it! 

Tunza Eco Generation helped me move from merely sitting back and complaining about how dirty the street in my hood was to actually doing something about it.

How I became an Ambassador.

It all began - six months ago... around July of last year. A friend of mine, Carol, shared with me some online links of fellowship opportunities a young person like myself could benefit from and something I could do during my gap year. But they all either had overboard selection criteria or simply did not resonate with my personal goals and ambitions. However as I continued pocking my way into this vast interweb, where one link led to another and before I knew it I had arrived at the Tunza Eco Generation website. 

One thing that immediately stood out to me about the ambassador programme was that I could better my writing skills (oh, my word! you should see the type of stuff I write now) and at the same time impact my community in a positive way. So mina I submitted my article and within three weeks I was selected into the programme as an ambassador to my region.

 

The six months?

The first few days as Ambassador were a bit of a challenge. How was I going to get members of my community to rally behind issue such as environmental sustainability which is not one of their priorities - which all revolve around putting food on their tables? But once I got accustomed into the warmness of the Eco Gen family, knowing my duties and what the organisation is about was easy.The highlights of my activities has got to include the workshops I did in some local schools and the first clean-up campaign I ever hosted.
