The BGreen Project is an International Youth Action Initiative. It targets Environmental issues in chosen cities around the world. The BGreen Project started its journey in Dhaka, Bangladesh in January 2014, where 100 urban youth from around the country gathered to address current environmental issues in local communities. These youth participated in collective brainstorming and generating action plans and solutions.
BGreen?s goal is to collaborate with dynamic youth from different communities with environmental experts, professionals and other climate-concerned citizens from around the world. BGreen also inspires the youth from diverse social backgrounds in engaging with issues of environment, climate change and sustainability. BGreen is designed to connect grassroots action with ground-up theory and explore how the local communities are contributing (and can contribute) in developing these initiatives that address their unique contextual, cultural, economic, environmental and humanitarian needs.
BGreen arranged two annual conferences in 2014 and 2015. In the annual conference, youth from different communities gathered and shared their activities and ideas. In the conferences there were environmental experts and active change makers. They inspired the participants to carry on their activities to develop current environment around them.
The BGreen Mentorship Program: Once they come up with their ideas, BGreen team screened the projects. BGreen wants to help the student groups to bring their ideas into reality. To nurture their ideas based on research and studies, BGreen initiated its Mentorship programs. BGreen team invited experts on environment to mentor the student groups. Every group was mentored by two mentors. Both mentors and mentees signed contracts with BGreen to some rules and regulations. Both parties have to submit monthly activity report to BGreen so that they can follow up the gradual development of the projects. These contracts are valid for one year. On sixth month, BGreen will call the groups to have feedback on their projects. Workshops will be arranged time to time for the student groups. With the help of mentors and support from BGreen, the groups will be able to develop their action plans into reality at the end of the year.

WOW!What an initiative . Projects like this are really needed as many a times youngsters have brilliant ideas in their mind but they can't implement them and convert to reality as they lack guidance and expertise. Thanks for sharing , Asadullahil.
