Know Plants and Trees Program |

Trees are the longest-lived organisms in the world. They provide shelter and food for innumerable species of birds, mammals and insects. Bangladesh has an aging population of broad leaf trees. A large number of trees are in their latter years, some are vulnerable to storm damage and natural decay. In the storms of 1988 and 2007, nineteen million trees were destroyed. A host of diseases killed more than thirty million trees.
Tree plantation can ensure the survival of species that are threatened by habitat loss, maintaining the ecosystems on which human lives depend. It?s important to safeguard our ecological heritage for future generations.
To raise awareness among mass people on tree plantation Tarupallab organized its 19th Know Plants and Trees Program on 2nd February, 2015 in Ramna Park, Dhaka. Botanist Shamsul Hoq, Birdwatcher Inam al Hoq and Mokarram Hossen were present in the program. The founder of Tarupallab, Author and Professor Dizen Shwarma was honored in the program as well. |

OH! Sad to know that disease killed more trees than the Storms.
We await more details about initiative of Tarupallab.

Thanks for the great introduction on the program. The speed of cutting trees is scary. Everybody should be educated about the plants and trees. I would be happy if you add the details of the program later :D

"Know Plants and Trees Program" by Tarupallab , is really a good way to educate people about uses , benefits and importance of trees so that people act to plant more and more of them. Thanks for sharing , Asadullahil.
Tree plantation , is indeed, the most efficient way to maintain our eco- system.

Dear Asadullahil- Yeah, tree are the respiring lungs of the mother earth, we can't assume our lives without trees.
It would have been much more better if we could get more information about the Know Plants and Trees Program :)
