ANOTHER NIGERIAN UNIVERSITY MANUFACTURES ECO-FRIENDLY CAR |

I am very delighted to report that a Nigerian university, Ahmadu Bello University(ABU) Zaira, has successfully unveiled their first Eco-friendly car which was manufactured by the department of Mechanical engineering of the University.
The car, which is said to travel long distance but consume less fuel hence its environment friendly status was the response of the university to an invitation to compete at the Shell Eco Marathon Competition-an annual event which has witnessed some Nigerian universities with locally manufactured eco-friendly cars in the past few years- by the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria. One thing makes this feat more interesting for me and that is this in addition to the car being locally manufactured(all materials were sourced locally), the university displayed a real environment friendly intent in sourcing some of the materials that were not readily available by recycling parts of computers. It is a big statement of their support for environment friendly inventions. The university will be taking part in the Shell Eco Marathon competition in Netherlands later this May- just like the university of Benin and the University of Lagos did with their Eco-friendly cars last year- with this car as their main tool of competition. Wow, many congratulations for the first Eco-friendly car!! :D It's a great achievement. I am so happy to hear that. I hope it can be a new norm and energize the local community and economy in very positive ways(as it's locally sourced) Thank you for sharing the great news, Udeh :D

I came to know about the Shell Eco Marathon by your article! It's an interesting competition indeed! and I was surprised by the technologies of Ahmadu Bello University! hope Ahmadu Bello University can win the Eco Marathon competition!! :D

Environment friendly car with locally sourced material is really a practical invention. It means it can be used after the competition as well.
Icing on the cake is that recycled material is used.

Congrats for this eco friendly car launch in your country by one of your universities.
It 's indeed a good step and conveys good message that Nigeria is serious towards environment.
