Don't Throw Away, RECYCLE/UPCYCLE For Another Day!

by | 26-03-2015 18:26 recommendations 0

In the first month of my ambassadorship, yesterday, I took along my neighbours and friends, in my pursuit of disseminating awareness, by telling them about the Eco-generation platform through which we can work for the environment in a very fruitful manner.

I organised a group session with my neighbours and friends wherein I discussed various possibilities and actions we can take to sustain our milieu. Everybody knows about the concept of environmental sustainability but mostly it is only in theory.

I spread awareness about simple things we can incorporate in our daily life.  Other than recycling, I also addressed another pillar of sustainabilitywhich is also rather new comparativelyUpcycling. I showed them a few examples of upcycled material which I had made such as a penholder from interlocked newspaper strips and an upcycled flower pot made of a tissue box and plastic bottles. I urged them to bring out their creativity and upcycle in a fun and innovative manner (pictures). I also taught them to make  upcycled jewellery beads made of straws. This made integration of upcycling into their lifestyle easier for them.

At the end of these activities, I conducted a green quiz with some questions based on the powerpoint presentation and some testing the participants' general knowledge on the topics Recycling and Upcycling.

It was an eye-opening and enriching experience for the participants as well as myself.

   P.S

Thank you Eco-gen for providing the wonderful opportunity:)

Good job , Manav. You not only tried to spread awareness through mere words but also demonstrated the upcycled pieces to encourage them to go for recycling/upcycling. Keep it up ,Manav. I am really happy that you promoted Tunza Eco Gen.

You did great job, Manav! And I've just found out you changed the profile picture, it's wonderful. I feel proud of you that you really did something to promote Tunza Eco-generation platform and to raise the awareness on the Recycling/Upcycling among your neighbor. That's a very nice and noble job. Well done :)
