PETROBRAS is a Brazilian oil/natural gas company that works in about 22 countries for energy supply. Its head office is in Rio de Janeiro. The firm was founded in 1953 and nowadays it is essential for Brazilian economy if well managed.
Its actual slogan is like this: "A company that links energy supply with social environmental responsibility". Therefore, the company created a project called "Brazil of Water". The project accomplish a mapping of the main rivers and water-shade with a sort of seaplane. Its goal is to seek, catalog and analyze the freshwater of Brazil. Moreover, it identify spots which are not negatively affected by humans yet. In this way, the freshwater preservation and conservation can be assisted. The seaplane was transformed in a flying laboratory equipped with electrodes, refrigerators to preserve the samples and cameras. The aircraft can reach each corner of the country due to its autonomy which allows distance covering up to 1500 km with no refueling.

Interesting project! I guess they have CSR initiative and purpose of itself. Is there any English website that we can check the result of the Water project? It would be great if anyone can get access to the website and get the information on the status of rivers in Brazil. :D
