350Africa.Org Team is in Nairobi for a 3 Day Training on Climate Leadership that aims at strengthening climate activist strategic campaigning skills, using adapted tactics in order to build and consolidate the climate movement in their communities.350.Org is part of a million-people strong global climate movement that campaigns through grassroots organising and mass public actions in 188 countries. The number 350 means climate safety: to preserve a liveable planet, scientists calculates that we must reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere from its current level of 400 parts per million and rising, to below 350 parts per million.
Africa is predicted to be one of the continents to suffer from climate change effects due to her population dependence on rain-fed agriculture. According to 2015 IPCC climate vulnerability report, the earth temperatures are expected to continue rising, this will have dramatic effects towards achievement of Kenya's Vision 2030 and other developmental goals. Climate change will affect food production leading to conflicts of natural resources, malnutrition, diseases, melting of glaciers among others.
Pastoralist communities were noted to be among the most vulnerable climate change frontline communities due to desertification of their pasture grounds. Their livelihoods are destroyed stressing already poor communities, famine leads to malnutrition and death. As a participant of this climate change training I have realized that you can voice your actions towards climate change awareness campaigns using various strategies and tactics such as use of arts, painting, dancing, and choreography to reach and easy connect the message with the public. SMART Goals should be set when formulating any climate change awareness campaign so I as to raise your voice and successful to achieve adoption of sustainable development initiatives at community level.

Beautiful! I am proud of you, Samuel :D And happy to see happy you in the picture. I feel very sorry about the suffered people, especially pastoralist communities (who had done nothing with the global warming). At the same time, I feel grieve responsibility to reduce my carbon footprint and promote 350.org campaigns with my utmost effort. Thank you for sharing the alerting issue.

Thanks for introducing 350Africa , especially the detail of reason behind calling it 350.
I agree with you that there are multiple different ways to organise climate change or any environmental awareness campaign but they should be goal oriented and that too SMART goals.
