Bottle House.

Many of us are fond of cold drinks, what we do to those packages/bottles after we drink it? Most of the cold drinks come in recyclable bottles/packages but do we really return them for recyclying? Mostly they remain as pile of waste materials. And even in my country I have seen them being dumped or burnt in the dumping sites. These reckless burning has toxic effects on land, air, water and thus to humans, plants, birds and animals and we know they aren?t degradable and take hundreds of years to break down until then causing lots of damage to the Earth. Wood, grass and food scraps undergo a process known as biodegradation when they're buried, which is a fancy way of saying they're transformed by bacteria in the soil into other useful compounds. But bacteria turn up their noses at plastic. Load their dinner plates with some plastic bags and bottles, and they will skip the meal entirely.
Post quake in Nepal everyone is searching for alternative shelters that can avoid rain as the monsoon is approaching near and tents shall no more be able to handle those heavy downpour. So I was also one and came to know about waste bottle houses. It's not the option that can be implied in my country now or any new invention but still I found this green idea amazing so wanted to share with you all.

Waste bottles for construction? Yes, it is difficult to think of a bottle as a brick. But a mud-filled bottle is as strong as a brick and whatever you can do with a brick, you can do with a bottle too..Plus it has got lots of advantages too...
The man behind this innovative idea is a German named Andreas Froese, who is also the founder of 'ECO-TEC' which was found in 2001 by Andreas Froese Germen citizen and its head quarters is at Honduras Central America.ECO-TEC has done more than 50 eco friendly projects at Honduras, Columbia, Bolivia.ECO-TEC has won lot of environmental awards for innovation. They developed this wonderful technology to build with pet bottles which helps to reuse plastic bottles and avoid plastic menace.

Building with Bottles:
This is an effective solution for reusing the plastic and preventing their harmful effects on the environment. Bottles have the following advantages over bricks and other construction materials.
1. Low cost - You know how much a bottle costs!
2. Non-Brittle - (Unlike bricks)
3. Absorbs abrupt shock loads - Since they are not brittle, there can take up heavy loads without failure.
4. Bio climatic
5. Re-usable
6. Less construction material
7. Easy to build
8. Eco-friendly

What a distinctive idea to reuse the plastic bottles! I like the Argentina one! haha
But it looks vulnerable to the rainfalls or wind storm so it would be useful in the countries where it hardly rains :P Thanks for sharing Alina!

Alina! It's simple and extremely brilliant idea! Thank you for sharing it with pictures :) I was impressed by how genius idea it was. It's simply amazing. As you mentioned it can be a great help if we build houses with bottles, first for elders and children.
