The idea started in November 2014 by a facebook page named Algerie Propre

Who is behind AlgeriePropre? They are a group of young people who love to see Algeria a healthy and clean country , they have created the page and the hashtag #AlgeriePropre to educate and to lead young Algerians to protect the environment, and to love the mother Earth in which they live. They promote all the good deeds of volunteering organized by associations, neighborhood committees or groups of friends who want to live in clean Algeria ! They call also all the other pages that want to share the work of the many people who work every day to # AlgeriePropre as a model of civilisation.To make the clean up events more interesting and to give some fun to volunteers first they were calling to colourful stairs and the coloured stairs of Souk Ahras, Tizi-Ouzou and Algiers were an example to follow. Than it was an other call to recycle car tires like colouring and giving them interst for environmental beauty , and than desining some traditional arts and some awareness slogans on the walls . The admins of the page invited all the fans to organize themselves on a voluntary basis or with events of associations to protect a place, clean it, to give it back some life to the benefit of everyone and posting their pictures using the Hashtag. 

The page Algerie Propre is the most successful and the best model of awareness , artists, environmental associations , youth ,children , elders.. Etc  joined the revolution of Algerie propre "Clean Algeria" .
