I have a "big brother" at theThe De La Salle University - Dasmarinas because we went together to the TUNZA In Bandung, Indonesia last year. His name is Raji Tanada. I am proud to say that his school was awarded the Most Sustainable and Eco-Friendly School in the university level in 2011. One of their interesting projects is to encourage the members of the university to bike to class. They have put up bike racks in different places all around the campus to make it easier for the bikers to park in a safe place. The more students and faculty bike, the less carbon emissions there will be.

They have a system in Stavanger, Norway too that I had fun with during the 2008 TUNZA Conference for Kids. There are bike racks all over the city with bikes parked. Anyone can just borrow a bike and ride to their next destination. Then they leave the bike in the nearest bike rack for someone else to use. It was free and helped people get around. I guess it was a government thing.
