Know the target, Put the materials.

Surabaya, Indonesia - Raising environmental awareness through workshops and campaigns is important. But, knowing the target audience is more important.

Like what I've done in empowering people in Wonokromo sub-district, Surabaya. In my humble opinion, it's not really necessary to talk a lot about the technical materials to run green business. Learning by doing is a true quote. We can develop them by training how to produce recycled products, for example shown in the picture below. Besides, we also train about the other innovation on how to make bricks from waste. Furthermore, after they get excited with waste management, we can continue it to marketing section  by running an exhibition.

If we get into small sub-districts, it will be more useful to be more focus on the implementation and management system application directly, followed with showing benefits for them. Dont put too much scientific materials. What they have to do understand is, the real degradation that they can feel by themselves, and convince them that we need to save the environment together, with a deep passion. Through this method, we can increase their love to the environment, and keep growing.
