Air is the most essential element needed to sustain life. Overall health of your body and mind in a great degree depends upon the amount of pure, fresh air breathed.
A steady supply of fresh air that is full of oxygen is very important. Fresh air provides you with a steady supply of oxygen which is needed by your brain and every single cell of your body. The body is made up of cells. Cells in turn make up tissues and tissues in turn make up the organs of the body. Every function carried on by the body is directly related to the life of the cells. Cells need four things to live and function properly such as oxygen, water, nutrition and cleansing. Without oxygen the cells die in three minutes as it is one chemical essential for the cells to create energy.
Oxygen is a very important component of life. Fresh air is a free gift that we need to breathe liberally. To enjoy fresh air, it does not mean that you can find it everywhere outdoors. In large cities, finding clean and fresh air is not an easy task as the natural freshness of air is destroyed by tobacco smoke, city smog, re-circulating air in buildings, improper ventilation, exhaust, and many other pollutants.
To continue raising awareness to respect for the environment and improving the quality of life, the fight against urban pollution, takes place this Friday, July 31, the 7th edition of the "Car Free Day" in the center city of Algiers, from 9h to 19h.
The event is organized by the Algerian Radio with support from the wilaya of Algiers and the Ministry of Planning, thus renewing the initiative, "based on the experience and success of the last six editions and thanks the strong participation of citizens ", as underlined their release.
The eco-citizen event involves stopping all traffic between the street Didouche Mourad (from the headquarters of the Ministry of Housing) and Martyrs' Square in Lower Casbah, through the General Post Office, the Youcef Zighout boulevards and Che Guevara and aslah Hocine street.
The judgment of the traffic on this route leaves room for various cultural and sports activities planned along the route throughout the day. Note that the official launch takes place at the General Post Office in the presence of Communications Minister Hamid Grin, and Algiers wali Abdelkader Zoukh.
Algiers residents should take advantage of this truce in the infernal traffic in the capital. Tomorrow, back to the usual mess

"Car Free Day" is a great way to spread awareness about increasing pollution and traffic congestion due to increasing cars on road. People should travel by public transport , or car pool/shared car system to have minimum private vehicles on road and reduce GHG emission. In UAE too we have car free day and the "Roads and Transport Authority " here advertise it very heavily about 1 month in advance , offer discounts on train/bus tickets , give prizes (by lucky draw) to commuters on public transport on this day. Thanks for sharing ,Sara.

Such a Great Event to raise awareness among the people for need to reduce the air pollution. i would like to say that there is much need to plant trees in the cities so we get more and more fresh air and also the carbon footprints are to be reduced when not needed . To reduce the amount of pollution created by the transport , the government should reduce the cost of travelling by public transport so the people opt more of the public transport to travel , which would save the money and reduce the carbon footprints too .

This is amazing! I would like to adopt this idea in my current university. It just feels sad that many people nowadays are arrogantly dependent on cars. Although yes, time efficiency is a good argument, a car-free lifestyle is more beneficial not only to the environment but to human health at least.
