I love movie in particular, I do not hesitate to watch the film related to environment. Especially, there was movie telling a story of Rio de Janeiro and Spix's macaw called blue, which was directed by Brazilian director, Carlos Saldanha in 2011. The "Rio" is my favorite one all the time and there are many valuable lessons that we have to listen. Today I would like to introduce the movie, Rio and will explain some features shown in the movie.

The story is about macaw parrot called Blu, smuggled out of tropical Rio de Janeiro and Brazilian ornithologist to try to save these endangered species.

What kind of bird called Blu?

The "Blu" is based on Spix's Macaw, which is also known as the little blue macaw. This bird is already rare and possibly extinct in the wild. In 1985, only 5birds were appeared in Bahia in Brazil but only one, male bird left in 1990. The conservationists and naturalists kept tracking him for 10years but in 2000, it was concluded that the last Little Blue Macaw were died.

Why this parrot has disappeared?

This species came from only one place Caatinga area of north Bahia state, Brazil. Since cattle raising started and land has been cleared, their habitats have been disappeared. In addition to that, illegal poaching will also influence on extinct of Spix's Macaw.

International breeding programs have been running and conservation put an effort to buy in order to provide endangered birds including Spix's Macaw with natural habitats.

Even though the story of this movie could be stereotype, it includes the concept of anti-modern closer to nature and protects the endangered animals. As Brazilian ambassadors of environment in Tunza- Eco generation, I recommend to watch or share the movie, which is one of the powerful weapons to raise a public awareness and I introduce the movie "Rio" today.
