India, a country with rich culture and a heritage that we all should be proud of. But have we ever asked ourselves
what it feels to be an indian?
how it feels to be part of India?
To live in this glorious country?
The answer is subjective, Because it depends on where we live, how Much we earn, which social background we belong even depends on our gender.
Belonging to an upper middle class family, I have spend my 18 years in different kind of inda. India where we find dominos at each street corner, good food, good life, education for all. But coming to Delhi broke that she'll where I was living. I could see the real India . India that was hidden beneath those walls that my parents created with money that they had.
Walking down the roads of Delhi I don't only saw poverty I felt it, the helplessness of having nothing. I saw children sleep on streets, selling pen instead of going school, I saw hunger starvation. I saw the real India.
I good in remembering statistics I know
1- India is second most populated country
2-23.6% Indian population lives below $1.25per day
3-every 1 out of 5 children suffers from malnutrition.
I know all the statistics but that's not enough. Till how long with it be a statistics to us. They are not a number or some graph drawn with arrows pointing downward. They are human being they too have right to live a better life.
I want to work for them, for the society. I want to know the name of that one child who suffers from malnutrition because I know that child has a name. And he is not just a number.

WE do have the same problem in Nepal as well. Its really a pain to see children in such pathetic condition. Seeing them, it gives a feeling that we are at least we are some how fortunate to have a sleep in a bed and good food. With this feeling, we are to serve those less fortunate children than us with a common motto WE SERVE !

Dear Sakshi I can understand your words as I am well familiar with such situation. I belong to lower middle class family and our family also had gone through many hardships. But I feel so sorry that there are many children even in Nepal who don't even have a shelter, no good food, no education at all. We are all with you to support your initiative, if everyone does what is possible within their limit then every child will have secured future. All the best dear Sakshi :)

I understand the pain you are going through on seeing such poor and less fortunate people in Delhi. I am from Delhi (although have been living in UAE for 12 years) and visit it every vacation. I feel so sorry for them and want to do something to improve their lives. I can't help everyone who is needy but in my capacity(with assistance from my parents)I donate to Old age homes, orphan charities and diseased people asylums. Thanks for such a honest message with your sincere concern. Life is not easy. Looking at such people also teaches us that we should be happy for and respect what we have and we should not waste anything especially food . Let's share and care.
