Few months ago , my parents read in local media about "Dunia Young Leaders Scholarship Program" to encourage and empower youngsters who have exceptional leadership skills , have excelled not only in their academic fields but also in extra-curricular , who have achieved awards & laurels in multiple fields and most important who are trying to make a difference and trying to make this world a better place. "Dunia Young Leaders Scholarship Program" is initiated and launched by Dunia Finance , a leading UAE based financial services provider. The aim of this program is to identify the brightest of the brightest students and award them to encourage them to continue doing their good work . "Dunia Young Leaders Scholarship Program" was open to students starting from nursery all the way up to university / PhD students, offering students a scholarship grant for their annual tuition fees (up to a maximum of AED 20,000 =USD 5400) for the academic year 2015-2016. They had announced that they would be giving this award (scholarship grant) to only 20 students who are studying in school , college or Universities in UAE or even outside with the condition that their parents should be UAE residents. So it was highly selective and competitive as it was for students from across the world whose parents are in UAE. We decided to apply for it. All scholarship candidates had to go through a competitive application process, which included essay writing, extra-curricular activities, achievements and awards. It seems they got thousands and thousands of application out of which after 3 screenings by different panels , they shortlisted 120 for the final stage i.e. interview. I was glad that I was invited for the interview. Those people shortlisted were then interviewed by an independent Scholarship Committee. They announced the results and I was really glad that I am awarded this scholarship , award and the title 'Dunia Young Leader Scholar'. 20 students were to be awarded the scholarship grant but due to overwhelming response, an additional 18 students received runner up prizes, bringing the total number of winners under this program to 38 students. Dunia hosted Award/Felicitation ceremony on 27th Oct for the 38 winners to recognize their achievements and show their support in helping empower these students through education. The chief guest for the ceremony was Hind Al Mualla, Chief of Creativity, Happiness and Innovation (CHI) of The Knowledge Human Development Authority (KHDA), who was present to address and congratulate the winners on their great success. Through this program , Dunia seeks to empower young talent , enrich their lives and enable success, encouraging them to take charge of their own futures. Dunia feels that by their such programs and platforms they are using their capabilities and resources to support the UAE's ongoing efforts to build a sustainable and competitive economic future. It's rightly said that sustainable human development is essential to achieve environmental sustainability. From the bottom of my heart , honestly and genuinely , I want to thank this amazing "Tunza Eco Generation" for contributing to my success. I can't express in words how much confidence , knowledge and resources this wonderful platform has provided me. I feel so touched and great whenever I hold my business card from Tunza Eco Generation. That feeling itself is a big confidence booster.
