Peter Brabeck is the chairman of Nestle in the world. He is saying that the world will face a worse hunger crisis than what we experienced in 2008 because too much land is being planted to produce biofuels instead of planting for food! Now the UN's World Food Organization is agreeing with the Nestle Chairman and is pushing to make changes in biofuels policies. In the Philippines, we also have biofuel policy like all diesel sold in the Philippines must have a blend of 10% bioethanol. This is produced from organic, renewable sources like trees (example is jatropha seeds), animal wastes, industrial wastes, etc. Source: http://ph.news.yahoo.com/nestle-chairman-sees-worse-food-crisis-2008-paper-083449641.html |
