In this article, I am going to talk about something that strongly related to our life, that we do every day. Its about toilet. It seems weird topic but in Japan, toilet is something that is fully considered, from the toilet convenience, toilet hygiene, and environmental impact of the toilet. Japan?s toilet has been developing rapidly and becoming the one of the most sophisticated toilets all around the world.
Firstly, I want to explain how japan toilet looks like. Most of Japan?s toilets have many buttons, which have many features such as water sprayer (with sprayer direction and sprayer power buttons as well), bidet, deodorizer, flush, and water sound or music button for camouflaging ?the real toilet sound?. Some toilets also have infrared sensor for automatic flush. For the japan newcomers, it is quite difficult to use Japan?s toilet. But if we can get used to with Japan?s toilet, we will realize that Japan?s toilet is very comfortable and we even can stay in toilet for a long time there.
Then, I will also explain environmental aspect of Japan?s toilet in detail. Commonly, Japan?s toilets have two kinds of flush, small and large, which mean small amount of water for small excretion and large amount of water for large excretion. So, we can choose the flush depend on how much water do we need for flushing away the excretion. Another water saver feature is tap on the top of the water tank. After using toilet, we need to wash our hands, right? So, by having tap in the top of the tank, we can reduce water usage for hand washing. Japanese are still also trying to reduce water amount by developing toilet design and technology.
Even toilet is only simple thing, but it can really affect environment. Something that we can learn from Japanese toilet is how precious so we need to conserve it. If we don?t have this kind of toilet, so we need to conserve water in other aspects of life. Because clean water is limited resource and nobody can conserve it except us. Because of the way Japan pays attention to every little bit even in making toilet system , I really admire them. Water saver flush of 2 kinds (small and large) is really a great concept to save water. Thanks for sharing, Mukhlish.
