This year, I got the opportunity to be selected as among the 8^th Tunza Eco-Generation Regional Ambassador by the Samsung Engineering Company and UNEP and being the only from North Eastern province of Kenya Region and the second from Kenya. This was a great honour. This gave me an opportunity to take young leadership and also advocate much for Mother Nature.

This tenure in office was a remarkable one in which I got maximum respect from my fellow young people. My mind got opened up and also got inspired how children and youth around the world are coming up with bright and innovative ideas for the sake of environment. This poses a big challenge to other children and youth who could not be innovative enough.

I have been able to implement different environmental programmes at my level that also gave me the chance to convince leaders from different institutions on the need of running different environmental campaigns within their areas.

I was able to source for different resources from different institutions that made my environmental campaigns a very big success. The memory of all was during this year?s World Environmental Day in which I got invited as a young Environmental Ambassador and as a guest to attend the ceremony in which we planted 3,000 trees. Being an ambassador is being a leader ad also a role model. One takes the responsibility of having different young people behind him/her and following the steps.

Tunza Eco-Generation has given me the title E-Gen that has led to my recognition as a young environmentalist. Through this, my articles have been published more than twice and soon the third one to get out in the UNEP Tunza Magazine for Children and Youth. I take my sincere gratitude to the Eco-Generation Staffs and Team for having been supportive both morally and materially to my side.

That was a great teamwork. I am also looking ahead to be supportive to Eco-Generation activities and Campaigns for the success of the programme today and in here future.

To me, it meant a lot to be an environmental ambassador to be a role model for the young people and inspire them towards a better future.
