Nepal and its Fading Beauty

Nepal has been known to be one of the most beautiful countries around the world with the snowy trails of Mount Everest attracting climbers and hundreds of hillside villages filled with people. Today, it is not easy for kids to go outside without masks that they have developed to be fashionable and fit to go with any outfits.

A decade of civil war, government cuorruption and the lack of effective environmental policies have led to fading beauty of Nepal. Black smoke from traffic, rising levels of greenhouse gas emissions, and mounting trash from visitors have all contributed to the devastating environmental problems of Nepal. Scientists are now predicting that the global warming will cause the glaciers of the Himalayas, which provide water to over one billion people, to disappear within 50 years.

The new government of Nepal should take leading initiatives to settle consistent environmental policies and come up with novel ways to protect the environment as well. According to Nepal's Department of Forests, the country's forests are dying away at 540 acres a day, a rate that is proven to be dangerous. Thus, regulation hindering illegal logging and transpassing into forests should be established. Another much needed regulation might be to amend the constitution, pursuing a legally binding measures to condemn companies and individuals who violate environmental laws.
