'togodiversity'

You know maybe the Togo but not its biological diversity here is what you need to know about this country therm biodiversity.


Togolese  ecosystems   is very diverse, include both terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems are unfortunately perpetual degradation after numerous pressures. Can be distinguished:
Terrestrial ecosystems consist of semi-deciduous forests, dry forests and woodlands, riparian gallery forests and savannahs Guinea and Sudan.
Aquatic ecosystems consist of fluvial ecosystems, lacustrine, marine, fish, water reservoirs and a particular ecosystem, mangroves.
River ecosystems include river basins whose basin of the Volta Basin Mono Basin Zio-Haho. The flora consists of algae and water lilies. The fauna is rich in various species of fish and shellfish.


Lake ecosystems include lakes, ponds, artificial or natural, temporary or permanent. The flora consists of algae (well known), water lilies, but also invasive plants such as water lettuce, water hyacinth and lentils. The fauna is dominated by fish.
Marine ecosystems are mainly composed of sands, rocky areas and two living resources including algae, fish, marine mammals and reptiles including some endangered.
The underwater flora is poorly known, with the exception of a few stands of algae that beach rock were inventoried summaries for educational purposes. The marine fauna is rich. There are also migratory species including mammals (whale, dolphin etc..), Reptiles (turtles) and birds.


Ecosystem diversity has helped a wide variety of flora and fauna of Togo.


Flora and fauna
Flora Togo account 3491 terrestrial and 261 aquatic species representing all currently known systematic groups in the country. A single plant species, Phyllanthus rouxii (Euphorbiaceae) growing on the hills north of ferruginous Bassar is reported as endemic. Many species are endangered, endangered or vulnerable.

The wildlife inventory Togolese identified 3,476 species of terrestrial species in 2312, 1146 and 18 aquatic terrestrial domestic (mammals, birds), three species of amphibians are endemic in Togo. These are: Conraua derooi in semi-deciduous forests Kloto (Plateau Region) Aubria subsubgillata to Kovié (Maritime Region), Bufo togoensis in Adélé Massif (Central Region).


Four species of migratory sea turtles frequent the Togolese coast is to lay (Chelonia mydas, Lepidochelys olivacea, Dermochelys coriacea) is to feed (Erethmochelys imbricata).
Dolphins and whales are also present in marine waters Togo.
In some lakes spread over the territory, crocodiles, hippos, manatees, endangered species, are identified.
