Indonesian National Planting Day - Hari Menanam Pohon Indonesia (HMPI) every 28th November and Indonesian National Planting Month - Bulan menanam Nasional (BMN) in the month of December are based on the Indonesian President's Rule No. 24 Year 2008. The theme of this year is Hutan Kota Mendorong Terwujudnya Indonesia Hijau - City Forest leads to Green Indonesia.
On Wednesday, 28 November 2012, Mr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, our Indonesian President with the First Lady, Mr. Budiono – Indonesian Vice President, Indonesian Ministers, Government Officials, Foreign Ambassadors and other invitations are planting trees at City Forest Area, International Soekarno Hatta Airport, Cengkareng.
The President plants manglid (Manglieta glauca) Mrs. Hj. Ani Bambang Yudhoyono, the First Lady plants Sempur (Dillenia Sp) Mr. Budiono, the Vice President plant Tanjung (Mimusops elengi) Mrs. Hj. Herawati Boedino plants Kenari (Canarrium S) Mr. Zulfikli Hasan, Indonesian Minister of Forestry plants Cempaka (Michelia champaca) and Mrs. Soraya Zulkifli Hasan plants Sawo Kecik (Manilkara kauki). At the same time the other Ministers and invitations are also planting trees.

This is great that the President understands the importance of Forests.
In Korea, tree planting day is 5th April.
Because Korea has 4 seasons, it can be too warm or too cold for tree planting if we plant trees in other months. :-)
