Post-Flood

by | 21-01-2013 15:56 recommendations 0

Since 17 January 2013, Jakarta hit by flood.  A state of emergency has been declared after heavy rains have paralyzed much of the Indonesian capital, Jakarta.

By today, some water subsided.

This weekend, I spent time visiting temporary shelters for Flood survivors. I visited Kitchen Facility in a Flood Shelter.

I just worried about accumulated garbage, any initiative idea?

I just wanna give recommendation regarding how to settle that annual problem ensuing in Jakarta which is Flooding. 1. We must know why it is always happens in Jakarta, anymore something wrong? 2. Find the main cause of flooding in Jakarta, and based on data, the causes are the conversion of forest-agriculture land of being settlement. it must be managed well by the government, and another cause is irresponsible indonesian people who throw rubbish every where. 3. the last is real action must be implemented dont keep on babling and just writting and so on.., creat the green activities like the cleaning of Ciliwung River every week.

Oh, what a vivid report on local disaster! Thank you Anggi, for sharing this matter.
In my opinion, how about hiring poor people(or the flood victims) to clear the garbage?
Then we can obtain to things.
    1. The garbage will be gone
    2. Poor people can earn some money to live on.
