ZAM-Ke

STEJ goes to the green! And how? Recovering bags type water pure water that litter the streets of Lomé and its surroundings, to make bags and accessories 100% recycled, hence the project name ZAM-Ke meaning in Mina 'uses me again "

A very important project for STEJ who actively fight against pollution.

ZAM-Ke

With a population of over two million inhabitants, Lomé became the most populated town in Togo, but has no real political consolidation in terms of waste collection.

This fact led to the invasion of public space waste. Among them, plastic bags, especially bags like Pure water, heavily used by the public, are visible and damaging.

Indeed, for many years the bags of water Pure Water empty litter the streets and are rarely removed from the public highway. The accumulation of these bags leads to many negative consequences for the environment and public health.

To raise awareness of the harmful effects of sachets, the association has implemented the project Zam-Ke meaning in Mina 'use me again. "

The concept

The project Zam-Ke is to collect, especially in the streets of sachets of mineral water Pure Water type for making bags and accessories 100% recycled and market.

The purpose of this project is to raise awareness of the problems of plastic bags to clean up the streets of Lome and its environs, and to self-finance the operating costs of the NGO.

Once collected the bags, they are washed by women employed mainly for this post. STEJ not only actively involved in the protection of the environment but also to the creation of jobs for women.

After this phase cleaning bags, the items are made by an upholsterer, also used by STEJ.

By purchasing an item ZAM-ke, participate not only clean the streets of Lomé and its surroundings but also you support STEJ projects and job creation. It is beautiful and nice to see women dedicated to work and it is just right to encourage their efforts and encourage them to better faire.I lets you appreciate its true value

Actually these plastic bags on the ground make the soil polluted, spread diseases because the water stagnated on it. It does not allow water to pass through it. So the underwater level is goes on decreasing in our area too. Our government and our district collector ordered no to sell carry bags, if anyone sell or use they immediately put fine for the same.
