Simran Vedvyas interviewed at Climate Change Studio as she joins in Youth and Future Generations Day - DOHA COP18 ,UNFCCC
DE!--script--ION AT THE OFFICIAL SITE- COP18 (29/11/12) – Simran Vedvyas, a youth argues that young people are vital to decision-making on climate change. Vedvyas states that as a 14-year old, she cannot help but think about the future. She describes young people as tomorrows heroes, arguing that they can and should raise their voices. Vedvyas expresses her regret that young people are only given one day in which to participate at COP18, but is clear in her affirmation of the strength of the youth voice. She finishes by asserting that young people can and should strive to create the change they want to see in the world. She explains that by creating a strong international network, young people have increased their power and enabled themselves to develop a better understanding of global issues. First ever March against Climate Change in Qatar I participated in the March against Climate Change titled -One Environment One People One Earth. The Event had many International Climate Activists and Qataris alike joined in for this March on Saturday 1st December 2012 morning. One of the legacies of COP18 is to keep the climate change movement going. Hopefully this march will create a change in mentality and make civil action more acceptable in the culture of the Arab region. Climate change is an urgent issue and we need every region to be strongly engaged in the debate.
