Loja is a city located in the province of Loja in the valley of Cuxibamba, at the south of the country Ecuador, Loja its a beautiful and touristic city with a lot of things to offer to the tourists that come to visit and also it has one of the most important biosphere reserves of the country called ''Podocarpus''.

Loja, is the city where I was born and where I live, and I can realize as a citizen, of the concern of all the habitants from my city because of the climate change, the problem is that we know that the climate change is affecting our ecosystem, but the population don?t do nothing for save our city and the world, Loja is one of the citys with more vehicles in the country and because of that we have a lot of air pollution that affect to the habitants and to the ecosystem specially to the Podocarpus, our climate is temperate-humid equatorial and the average temperature is 16 degrees Celsius (61 degrees fahrenheits), but in recent years we have noticed the presence of variations in climate in our city, our climate now is always very irregular.

For example, in our city the day 19 of October of 2012 at 14:30 in the afternoon, we have the presence of a hailstorm that surprise all the citizen because it was the first strong hailstorm in Loja, the citizen have never seen something like that before, almost every street in the city center were flooded because our city wasnt prepared to have a storm of this magnitude, it was a disaster and all the people is really worried because of the climate change in Loja.

This is why my High school ''San Gerardo'' proposed to do cycle routes in my city for reduce the air pollution, a lot of habitants take care about this really good project but the township of Loja just see it like a possibility the problem is that we need to do something for our planet now, we cant waste time, and its why my High school also propose ''vota por la bici'' (vote for cycling), that propose that we hang out to have fun riding bicycle to reduce the air pollution and also start to use it like an alternative way of transportation, so my friends and me started to go to our High school in bycicle to show the people that we can do a change, we can use the bicycle as transportation.
