Stop Illegal Logging through Indonesia Legal Wood

?Wow?Cool?, the first statement that kept babbling in my mind as seeing a eminent logo of big company in my regency.

Do you still remember what is FSC, Chain of Custody and many kinds of certificates given to wood industries. The certificate have a special function to judge that all woods cut down are legal. It means there is no illegal logging as using these woods. In other hand, it benefits to describe that all woods are not taken from natural forest and conservated forest but also they are taken from plantation forest and others. The prominent case from Greenpeace that one of great institution obtaining Pulp and Paper in Indonesia braved to cut down trees from natural forest.

All the above cases will occur deforestration and in the next will endanger global warming due to climate change. And as we know, the highest constribution in ensuing global warming is deforestration because there is no trees that are able to absorb green house gasses.

The tight restriction from Government of Indonesia especially Ministry of Forestry have invited all stakeholders to implement a regulation in mitigating illegal logging and the destruction of forest. Nowdays, Indonesian Government has implemented SVLK or Indonesia Legal Wood. Because of the logo as colloquial certificate, it eases some home-industries and companies to get more economical benefits including there is no difficulty within export.

The logo of Indonesia Legal Wood can de described below:

The circle of tree : it describes forestry wood and continuous improvement of forest management.

The leaf of Shorea sp. : it describes that all wood products have been secured their legality by verification process.

Cert. No. xxx : It is a certification code of a company, kind of verification, and verification institution.

Exactly, I support pratap. Cold water of the oceans and sea have greatest carbon sequestration capacity.
