This year Earth Day 2013 was very interesting with many activities during the week rather than on just 22 April 2013. I participated in the Tree planting event organized by Synergy Youth Foundation and also delivered a power point presentation on Climate Change to spread the message across.

This was followed by many events in my school arranged to spread the green message to a wider network of students.

For grade VI the theme was Creativity out of newspaper and old magazines. Wall hangings were made with old CDs by grade VII students. Grade VIII students presented their creativity out of old clothes. For Grades IX and X students there was a Best out of Waste competition.

As I am in Grade VIII, we made recyclable items out of used clothes. I used my old denim from a pair of jeans to make a water bottle cover as each house had to choose one topic and make useful items out of the waste. We used lace from a frock and flower designs from a shirt.

Our class also made chart on the theme of Earth Day. This chart carried the slogan 'Earth day every day, else no earth no breath' – a slogan coined by me!! It also had a tree on Mother Earth which depicted the necessity of planting trees to sustain the future.

We could not click pictures as use of electronic items in school is not allowed. So I am attaching a few pictures from my school taken from my website.
