Plastic free Kathmandu |

Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal. If everything goes as planned and Kathmanduians (People of Kathmandu) co-operate with Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Officials, from TODAY onwards Kathmandu city is going to be one of the PLASTIC FREE cities in the world. An appreciable initiative of KMC indeed for better future Kathmandu.

Very good point Pratap. If citizens are not aware of proper alternatives or proper alternatives are not abundantly available in Nepal , then such a campaign may be incomplete.

Thanks Rohan for your comment. Look at the poster, there has been mentioned about the fine as well Rs. 500 fine for plastic users and Rs. 1000 for producer in each incidents..

Yeah Arushi Rs. 500 fine for plastic users and Rs. 1000 for producer in each incidents. It adds more effictiveness.

Good initiative by KMC. As I can read that they would impose fine in case they find someone carrying plastic bags , so it would be more effective as penalties bring fear and are at times the best ways to enforce change.
