THE WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATION WITH TUNZA ECO-GENERATION CLUB AT GROUPE SCOLAIRE GATENGA, RWANDA.

Tunza Eco-generation Club at Groupe Scolaire Gatenga has celebrated the World Environment Day on 5th June 2013 as all organization involving in Environment Conservation and Protection issues. I have joined this Tunza Club as a representative of Tunza Eco-generation in Rwanda during the celebration of World Environment and almost member s of the Club were present. We had clean up the school by removing all non- degradable wastes on the ground and after we had a little meeting talking about the term of this year *THINK- EAT AND SAVE* and the youth and children of the club has promised their contribution to manage the food wastes which is the main source of the food insecurity.

On 5th June 2013 at 2:30 PM, when the students finished studies I have joined the club of Tunza Eco-generation that has been founded recently at Groupe Scolaire Gatenga. The committee has come to take me where a taxi was dropped me then we joined other club members who were ready to celebrate the World Environment Day. I greeted them and we began to make the school green buy taking all non- degradable wastes on the ground (See photos).

With committed members of the Club, we have taken all non-degradable wastes which were constituted by plastic bottles and envelops on the school ground, and in short time around 30 minutes  the school ground has changed the look, it has become green as it suppose to be.

We have made a short meeting after the clean up and we talked about World Environment Day and discussions focused on the term of the year:*THINK- EAT AND SAVE* and we saw that this idea is great. In Rwanda as in other countries from Africa of Sub- Sahara many people don?t yet reach the food satisfaction level  but this doesn?t mean that they aren?t people in Sub- Sahara region who drop out food, if these food wasting could be managed may be some hungry people could also get enough food and keep the Environment great.

The World Environment Day celebration great and has brought some new thinking among people especially for these young people of the Tunza Eco- generation Club at Groupe Scolaire Gatenga me and them, we are committed to make change.

Below are some of the Event pictures.
