Leonardo DiCaprio: A CLIMATE CHAMPION.

by | 01-03-2016 21:03 recommendations 0

Leonardo DiCaprio -  our favourite Titanic star and actor finally won the Oscars. It has been a long awaited dream for Leonardo and many of his fans.

Oscars

Leonardo, commenced environmental activism not long ago but has really made impact more than most activists I have known.  This convinces me that people of influence and fame is what we need to engineer mass inclusion towards climate action.

If famous people - musicians, actors and actress, religious leaders (Thumps up to Pope Francis), and recognized artist could all channel their influence towards environmental advocacy, then I believe we can change the hearts and attitudes of climate sceptics to champion environmental protection and climate action.

I celebrate Leonardo DiCaprio for using the most amazing platform of his life to speak about climate action and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals.

SDG 13

In recent news, Leo mentioned that he is considering to quit acting to fully dedicate his life towards fighting global warming.

Yay! Finally he got it! :D The speech was short but strong. Loads of people on facebook and tweeters talked about it. By that I think he already contributed a lot. And I think the movie he won the oscar, the revenant, in a way is a film about nature?? By the way it shows the beauty and grandeur of it and how small we all are compared to it.

Hi Joshua, I also saw the very moment of Leonardo winning the Oscars. It has been a long time for his fans, of course including myself, to see his glory.
I totally agree with you that celebrities does have the influence and power to encourage people participate in saving the environment. One of my favorite celebrities is America's former vice president Al Gore, who is working as an environmental activist though he previously was from the polticis. I hope there will be more celebrities who care for the environment as well.
Keep up on good work :-D

I believe that celebrities and super stars should be encouraged to participate in the sustainability campaign to cover a wider range of youths all over the world. Thumbs up to Leo!
