(Dear Friends, first of all I would like to apologize for not being able to actively participate in this elite Eco- generation family since last few weeks due to my ongoing final exams which will end by the mid of this month)

Many of you might be familiar that I founded Tunza Eco- Club on June 5 (WED), 2015 at Shree Janapriya Public School, Chitwan Nepal. Time and again I have posted reports about the activities of eco- club as well. In this report I would like to share an event of Dustbin Hand- over to the club on 29th February, 2016.

Introducing Hidden Eco- Hero, Mr. Ashish Niraula

Before sharing about the event, I would like to introduce my best friend Mr. Ashish Niraula, who is also my current classmate. He has a dynamic personality, peaceful in nature, talented in studies, thoughtful and philanthropic with deep passion for learning new topics. He is the one who had always been there in most of the campaigns and events I organize but never wants to get captured in photographs neither wants any acknowledgement. He is a hidden eco- hero, always inspiring and encouraging me behind the scene selflessly. There are many people who had been mentoring me directly or indirectly and encouraging me to contribute for community and mother earth, Ashish is one of them. I would like to take this moment recalling all his tireless support and expressing my sincere gratitude to him.

Brief detail on TGG Mentorship Program

Currently both of us are involved in The Generation Green (TGG) Mentorship project of World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Nepal. The mentorship program is 6 months long where mentee like us (university students) get to implement their ideas and strengthen leadership skill via guidance of mentors (influential role models of the country). Ashish and I are in different teams with different mentors. My project is related to the Dust management in Kathmandu valley while as his project is entitled as "Training on Solid Waste Segregation and Composting" under guidance of Mentor Sujeev Shakya, influential Economic Analyst. In this regard, he has been implementing his project in 3 government/public schools of Nepal.

The details of event

On 29 February, 2016 we had our final exam of Internal Medicine, after exam we left for school at 1pm. We had already asked permission and informed the school committee about our purpose and event. At around 2.30 pm we kicked off the interactive session with members of Eco- club. I got to know about their routinely clean up in the school periphery and future plan to organize an inter- school Eco- quiz contest after few months as their final exam is approaching. Thenafter, Ashish introduced TGG mentorship program and its objective. Eco- club members assured to flow the message to each and every students for effective usage of dustbins. Two dustbins of 100 liters each was handed to the president of Eco- club and Principal. Principal Sir expressed his gratitude for motivating students to segregate waste and providing useful bins. Record diary was also handed to President and Secretary of Eco club for well maintained reporting of the activities of Eco- club. To implement words into action students immediately started gathering waste from their school periphery and disposed them in respective bins for degradable and non- degradable waste.

With a promise to visit Eco- club soon after our exams get over, we left the school at around 5pm with a happy and satisfied feeling.
