Eco-bag for the Earth

"Every day is an Earth Day." Yes! Ofcourse! And as an inhabitant of this planet it's our responsibility to take care of it every day because the sustainability of the Earth/Earth resources decides the future of the mankind. To deal with the problems our common home is facing each of us need to be actively aware. Awareness doesn?t work until it leads to right actions at right time. All around the globe, to remind people what earth has provided them throughout their life and seek for their efforts for its betterment, Earth Day is celebrated every year on 22nd April.
Recently many areas in Pokhara have been declared as plastic free zone. And it was an encouraging sight to see a popular department store, Bhatbhateni Super Market not providing plastic to the customers. It has compelled the people to carry their own bag and I think it's a good step that will help to minimize the use of plastic bags. Banning isn?t a big deal unless we have done necessary homework for effective implementation of the ban the example is raging use of plastics in Kathmandu despite the ban. So, inorder to cope with the minimum use of plastic in our daily lives, carrying our own bag while buying groceries as well as other things is must. And a year back the Green Groups of my University had brought the concept of "Eco-bags" which was used as a fundraiser to some extent and mostly for awareness. So, this earth Day I shared those bags with my family and neighbor explaining them about the Earth Day celebration and behavior change that helps to live a green life with minimum disturbance to the environment we live. Everyone liked the idea of Eco-bag and promised to minimize the use of plastics.

Alina, eco-bags are one of the great ideas to replace plastic items. They are renewable, and even when they need to be thrown away, they are mostly decomposable. As when MIT students came up with an idea to make a pencil that contains plant seed, I guess somebody will be able to invent eco-bags that can grow trees when they are thrown away. Thanks for posting and have a great day!

Wow! Dear Alina sister so amazing to see you celebrating Earth Day by distributing Eco- friendly bags made by Green Group of your university. Also, Bhatbhateni Departmental store recently inaugurated in my region Chitwan as well, hopefully it sets a new trend of discarding use of plastic bag here as well.
Thank you for sharing with us sister :)
