Technologies that save the Environment – Dubai Garden Glow

by Rohan Kapur | 26-04-2016 14:57 recommendations 0

I heard a lot about Dubai Garden Glow that was opened a few months ago in Dubai. This is world?s largest themed garden that has 10 varied themed landmarks. Dubai Garden Glow offers two diverse experiences, ?Art by day and Glow by night?, with unique installations, along with a sparkling garden that glitters in the evening. Its spread across 40 acres, with 32 installations made by 150 artists in 200,000 man hours costing over 8 Million US Dollars.

Normally such huge projects using lights & other expensive materials are not eco-friendly & will rather harm the environment while vying for record books. But this is not the case with our responsible city Dubai. The authorities are always creating new Technologies that save the Environment constantly.

Dubai Garden Glow is part of a bigger drive towards a sustainable environment.  Over 32 installations have been created using recycled materials, including plastic bottles, old medicine bottles, with all the creations using energy saving LED lighting to power it. Thousands of porcelain cups are also utilized. The aim is to educate people about the importance of reducing carbon footprint & preserving our Mother Earth.

When I visited the garden with my family last week I was mesmerized by the glowing beauty of the various themes. You have to see it to believe it. There was a porcelain Grand Sheikh Zayed Mosque that used a whopping 90,000 porcelain cups, plates & spoons. Also there was a 12 meter high replica of Burj Khalifa [Tallest building of the world] made with 330,000 small medicine bottles filled with colored water. This replica has been entered in the Guinness Book of World records. There is enchanting display of lights never seen before. Besides this there are Talking trees, panda paradise, dino camp, candy land, etc.

Mankind is introducing many technologies every hour but to our dismay many of them sucks the scanty resources rather than helping the fragile environment. Take for example carbon emissions from cars, air planes, power plants & factories, Technotrash or e-waste where the electronic gadget like Mobile, Tabs, computers etc. gets outdated and thus is thrown in trash.

In this scenario Dubai Garden Glow stands tall by opening a world class themed garden without harming the environment & taking a lead for others to follow.

Pictures are attached, Enjoy.

Rohan, it is so beautiful to see Dubai Garden glowing so glamorously. It is surprising that all those lightening materials are made from recycled ones. I once heard that Illac Diaz invented something called 'Liter of Light'. He has presented light to thousands of people just with a plastic bottle, sunlight and some little panels. You might search about him if interested. Thanks for posting and have a great ady!
