Christ is the Answer Ministries (Citam) church ministry is rapidly growing thus acquisition of land within Athi River area of Machakos County birthed a new assembly Citam Athi River. The land which is located few kilometers before Daystar University Athi River Campus is relatively flat and bare with little vegetation.
In a drive to forest the land and region, Citam leadership requested for tree seedlings from Green Africa Foundation. The Foundation donated to them 500 indigenous tree seedlings species which were planted around the fencing of the land. The planting activity was carried out on Saturday 22nd February 2014 where about 100 men through the Men Ministry within the Citam church structure came to plant the trees. A host of other female church members were present where they assisted in preparing food and mbuzi choma which was provided after the planting activity.
In his personal remarks, the deputy senior pastor of Citam Athi River Pst. Mark Maingi thanked God for giving the people present the opportunity to come and be part of the noble cause and also thanked God for Green Africa Foundation for donating some of the tree seedlings which were planted on that day. He further wished God?s blessings for the people who committed their time to grace the event.

Interesting how the churches are actively engaged in the environmental issues. Catholic churches in Korea also seem to be caring about the issues sometimes. (I'm an atheist by the way). Thanks for writing

This good to know. Tree planting is very necessary in Africa, especially the true tropics. So this is a job well done.
As Arushi said, check the spelling of Churches.

Hello John-You may want to correct the spellings of 'Church' in your report title.
Good job by Green Africa Foundation in donating the seedlings and contributing to increasing the forest cover of the region. Thanks for sharing.
