In a street near the center of Hanoi, there was a dump which spoilt the urban scene. And in the summer, the dump emits a very disgusting smell.
The case twisted the feeling of the neighbors until a student named Dam Thanh Tung from Academy of Journalism and Communication decided to take action. He and his friends made a plan of turning a garbage dump into a flower garden. The materials used for construction was mainly environment-friendly. Even they used the biological bricks to build the wall. All the vases were recycled from disposed bottles or old stuff, which made the garden even more special.
However, the main goal of that young and enthusiastic student aimed to was raising awareness of the local about protecting the environment. Since the flower garden appeared, no one wants to throw waste around that area. They even take turn to water the plants and regrow the weak plants.
It took only 5 days to build that garden. However, Tung needed the help from other 25 members and the support from his teachers and the local authorities.
The project was highly appreciated by the city government. Many expect to be multiplied the projects to many other places in Hanoi.
